One hundred Kaluga enterprises joined the national project «Labor Productivity»

The hundredth place in the list of participants in the national project “Labor Productivity” in the Kaluga region was taken by the country’s largest plant for the production of thermal insulation from foam glass, ICM Glass Kaluga (ICM Glass).

The operator of the project in the Kaluga region is the Regional Competence Center (RCC), operating on the basis of the Business Development Agency.

The company "ICM Glass Kaluga" has been operating since 2013 and is located in the Vorsino industrial park in the Borovsky district. Today it is the largest plant in Europe for the production of thermal insulation from foam glass. The company uses broken glass as a raw material, which also allows it to solve an important environmental problem - the disposal of solid household waste.

The enterprise processes more than 20 thousand tons of cullet per year. But, despite the impressive results, the plant management decided to join a program that will help improve production processes.

“Taking into account the fact that the national project “Labor Productivity” has proven itself from the best side and has confirmed its success at many enterprises throughout Russia, we believe that participation in the program will definitely allow us to achieve the expected goals and objectives, increase labor productivity, the qualifications of our personnel, business efficiency in general and the competitiveness of our products on the market,” General Director Alexander Klyuev shared his expectations.

After initial training, the team will go through the “Diagnostics and Planning” stage, where problems and reserves of the production process will be identified. After which the project team, together with RCC experts, will form a plan to unlock reserves for improving production and implement it over the next three months.

Lean manufacturing instructors will also be trained from among the company’s employees who will be able to train colleagues who were not included in the pilot project working group for further replication of the experience to other processes.

It should be noted that foam glass crushed stone "ICM Glass Kaluga" was used as insulation in the construction of the Military Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the RF Armed Forces "Patriot", the State Tretyakov Gallery, Zaryadye Park, the Moscow Metro, large transport hubs, kindergartens, schools and apartment buildings in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kaluga, Arkhangelsk, Tver regions, the Republic of Tatarstan and other regions.

The Kaluga region joined the national project “Labor Productivity”, initiated at the federal level by Russian President Vladimir Putin, in 2018. Today, 100 enterprises in the region take part in it.
