The government allocated 1 billion rubles for the purchase of containers for separate waste collection

The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko, 46 entities will receive funding for the purchase of containers for separate waste collection.

Victoria Abramchenko instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Russian Environmental Operator to ensure prompt delivery of funds to the regions and control over the efficiency of their use.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the development of infrastructure directly affects the increase in processing and the country's transition to a circular economy. The containers allow glass, metals, paper and plastic to be separated even at the collection stage. “The regions are working on the creation of new and re-equipment of existing container sites for the organization of separate waste collection. Coverage of the population with separate waste collection has reached 30%. A new support measure for building an effective MSW management system will increase this indicator, ”said Victoria Abramchenko.

The largest funding will be received by such regions as Voronezh (138 million rubles), Tverskaya (66.3 million rubles), Kostromskaya (60.9 million rubles), Sverdlovsk (60.5 million rubles), Orenburg (45.6 million rubles), Bryansk (42.5 million rubles), Novosibirsk (39.6 million rubles) regions, Trans-Baikal Territory (41.2 million rubles), Kabardino-Balkaria (63.9 million rubles), the Republic of Ingushetia (33.9 million rubles).

General Director of PPK "REO" Denis Butsaev noted that the company will closely monitor the targeted spending of funds. “We have to achieve 100% sorting of waste by 2030. One of the important steps to achieve this indicator is the introduction of separate collection of MSW throughout Russia. More than half of the Russian regions will receive funds for the purchase of new containers for North Ossetia as part of a subsidy from the Government. I want to emphasize the importance of the fact that the money is allocated specifically for containers. The problem of the lack of tanks for the NOR has been acute for a long time, and REO will continue to promptly update the data in order to take immediate measures in case of inconsistencies, ”said Denis Butsaev.
