In 2019, glass factories of the Vladimir region shipped products worth 25 billion rubles

On August 27, the First Deputy Governor of the Vladimir Region Alexander Remiga, as part of a working trip, visited the leading enterprises of the glass industry in the Gus-Khrustalny district and the city of Gus-Khrustalny. Together with the Deputy Director of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Roman Kuprin, he got acquainted with the production potential of the factories "Krasnoe Echo", "Expo Glass", the Experimental Glass Factory and the Gusevsky Crystal Factory named after Maltsov. Then Alexander Remiga held a meeting with the heads of the glass industry enterprises of the Vladimir region.

As the first vice-governor noted, one of the key tasks of the trip is to find out how the pandemic affected the work of the largest industrial enterprises, what support measures the regional administration can offer them. Note that the glass industry is one of the basic industries in the region. The dominant sector of the region's glass business is glass container production.

The volume of annual production of glass bottles in the region is 1.8 billion pieces - this is one fifth of the total Russian production of this product. The positive dynamics is associated with an increase in production in the field of flat glass, which increased by 27.6 percent, fiberglass materials - by 6 percent.

“In 2019, glass factories in the region shipped goods of their own production in the amount of 25 billion rubles. The index of glass production at the end of last year amounted to 105.2 percent, ”said Alexander Remiga.

Roman Kuprin highly appreciated the work of glass enterprises in the 33rd region. He stressed that our region, where flat glass is produced, could be a unique place for solar panels.

“The Vladimir region is unique in that manufacturers of several types of glass products are concentrated in one region. I think it makes sense to think about creating a regional association that could accumulate the problems of the glass industry in order to express its interests not only at the regional, but also at the federal level, ”said the Deputy Director of the Department of Metallurgy and Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Alexander Remiga said that there is an active discussion on the creation of a number of clusters in different directions in the Vladimir region. One of them may include the glass industry. The merger of glass enterprises will increase the industrial potential of the region several times.

“The Ministry of Industry and Trade has developed a package of documents for financial support of clusters, it is at the stage of approval. For one cluster, it is planned to allocate a subsidy of up to 300 million rubles. This is a good tool for the development of the cluster system, ”the First Vice Governor emphasized.

At a meeting with representatives of glass industry enterprises, the issue of collecting cullet was also discussed. Companies are ready to use broken glass as recyclable materials. Alexander Remiga set the task for the relevant departments to consider this issue in the near future.
