II decade, November 2023. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

The volume of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) in the second ten days of November 2023 decreased compared to the same period last year - minus 9.2%.

For the period from the beginning of the year to November 20, 2023, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 35.3 million square meters. m, which is 7.0% more than for the same period in 2022 (a decade earlier – plus 7.5%).

Decrease in shipments of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to November 20, 2023 in four districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to October 31, 2023):

• Southern Federal District -21.6% (previously -21.5%);

• Far Eastern Federal District -12.0% (previously -10.6%);

• Volga Federal District -7.0% (previously -9.9%);

• Ural Federal District -2.1% (previously -2.1%).

Glass shipments by rail for the period from January 1 to November 20, 2023 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to October 31, 2023):

• North Caucasian Federal District +66.2% (previously +58.9%);

• Northwestern Federal District +57.3% (previously +62.8%);

• Central Federal District +19.2% (previously +21.0%);

• Siberian Federal District +12.4% (previously +10.4%).

For comparison: the dynamics of railway glass shipments in the first 9 months of 2023 amounted to plus 5.7%, and the dynamics of the entire glass market – minus 2.0%. The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption during this period amounted to 22.4%.
