Hot Coating Thickness Gauge IT-GP

Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about the member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, LLC "Microelectronic Technologies Plant": The Microelectronic Technologies Plant actively supports Russian instrument-making and science, focusing its efforts on the development and production of modern models of measuring and testing equipment for the glass industry. Now at the final stage of development is a new device - the Hot Coating Thickness Gauge IT-GP.

IT-GP is designed to control the thickness of the applied protective coating of tin oxide SnO2 on glass containers. In accordance with the requirements of GOST 32131-2021, monitoring the coating thickness is critical to ensuring the quality and strength of glass packaging.

The thickness of the protective-hardening coating on the bottle neck is recommended to be no more than 1 nm, on the body from 2 nm to 6 nm. This is necessary so that the protective-prohibitory coating meets regulatory requirements. If the coating thickness is below the minimum value, the glass container will not be strong enough, and if the coating is greater than the maximum value, it may cause deformation of the container and the presence of roughness and unevenness on it, which is also unacceptable.

IT-GP characteristics:

1. The range of measuring the thickness of the protective and hardening coating: from 0 CTU to 250 CTU (from 0 nm to 25 nm)

2. Measurement accuracy: ± 3 CTU (0.3 nm)

3. Glass thickness: up to 20 mm

4. Compositions of the protective and hardening coating: tin oxide SnO2 on the glass surface.

5. Battery type 18650 3200 mAh

6. Availability of USB type C for charging

IT-GP advantages:

- Provides high accuracy and reliability of results, which is critical for quality control.

- Measurements are carried out quickly, which allows for effective control of the coating application process.

- Compact dimensions and ease of use make the device available for work in various conditions.

- Works without index liquid.

- A set of standards for calibration is included in the delivery set.

- It is planned to include IT-GP in the State Register of SI of Russia.

The IT-GP hot coating thickness gauge is a necessary tool for glass container manufacturers, allowing them to control the quality of protective coatings and ensure that their products meet the highest customer requirements.

Currently, the IT-GP prototype is being debugged for its transfer to trial operation at one of the largest glass factories in Russia.
