Corporate eco-volunteers carried out a large-scale cleanup in the Karakansky Bor

Dear colleagues, we are publishing news about the member of the Association StekloSouz of Russia, LLC Sibirskoye Steklo (Sibsteklo):

Employees of the enterprises "Sibirskoye Steklo", "Ekran-Optical Systems" (assets of RATM Holding) and the company "AB InBev Efes" carried out a large-scale environmental campaign in a specially protected natural area of regional significance - the Karakansky Bor natural park. From a huge area along the coastline of the Karakan Bay, thanks to the efforts of eco-volunteers with the assistance of the Fund for the Protection of Nature and the Environment "Green Standard" and JSC "Spetsavtokhozyaistvo", more than 150 bags of household waste were collected and removed.

LLC "Sibirskoye Steklo" (Sibsteklo) is one of the leading manufacturers of glass containers, the largest recycler of glass waste, has the status of "Partner of National Projects of Russia".

JSC "Ekran-Optical Systems" (EOS) is the only manufacturer of certain types of photomultipliers in the post-Soviet space.

"AB InBev Efes" is the largest leading brewing company in Russia, with 11 breweries in Vladivostok, Volzhsky, Ivanovo, Kazan, Kaluga, Klin, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Saransk, Ulyanovsk, Ufa and three malt complexes in Kazan, Omsk and Saransk.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Novosibirsk Region, for which this area is one of the priorities, expressed gratitude to all participants of the action. According to the head of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, Evgeny Shesternin, some tourists do not see signs and bins on principle, and do not want to take garbage with them.

- We will continue to support and organize events to clean up coastal areas, - the minister emphasized. - At the same time, we are carrying out a lot of information and educational work. Fortunately, we and nature have active assistants - volunteers.

The corporate sector is developing the tradition of patronage over protected areas. Let us recall that earlier, with the assistance of Sibsteklo, signboards and information boards were installed here - they contained rules of conduct in the forest, information about its history, flora and fauna. Large-scale clean-up days have been held for several years, which unite socially responsible businesses around common values and allow us to achieve changes in the environmental situation: if last year eco-activists had to literally open old garbage ulcers, now it was easier to clean the unique forest area. Glass waste was sent to Sibsteklo, where it will become secondary raw materials, including for the manufacture of containers as part of deliveries by AB InBev Efes.

- Our company pays special attention to environmental projects. Every year, employees in all regions participate in events to clean, green and improve public spaces, - noted Irina Zolotnitskaya, Executive Director of the Novosibirsk branch of AB InBev Efes. – These initiatives are part of our social program “We Live Here!” aimed at creating a comfortable and environmentally friendly urban environment. The employees of the Novosibirsk branch also actively support corporate eco-volunteering. For the second year, we have been traveling to the Karakansky Bor together with our partners, understanding the importance of preserving this protected area, especially beloved by Novosibirsk residents and guests of the city, in its original form.

– By spreading the practices of an environmentally friendly attitude to the environment, we are expanding the circle of those involved in the implementation of the “green” agenda at the local level, – comments Anton Mor, General Director of Sibsteklo. – Our teams perceive volunteering as part of the corporate culture and are ready to participate in projects related to ecology outside of their work duties. We fill the concept of “sustainable development” with simple meanings and specific actions – together with our partners, we draw attention to the need to protect nature, help to understand how each of us affects its condition, and provide opportunities to reduce this burden. According to EOS CEO Ilya Orlov, employees have a desire to contribute to the preservation of natural heritage: “The more people join environmental initiatives, the more noticeable the effect, including the social one – in addition to solving specific problems, eco-volunteers feel their involvement in improving the quality of life in the region, because they see the results.
