Float glass production volumes increased in Kazakhstan

In just 5 months of 2025, 6.7 million m2 of float glass was produced.

The Orda Glass Lltd glass plant was commissioned in October 2022. The company has a high-quality float glass production line, this is the largest glass production line in Central Asia, Kazpravda.kz reports

According to the Industry Committee of the Ministry of Industry, the maximum daily productivity is 600 tons, the annual production capacity is 197,100 tons of float glass.

“Since launch, 28.7 million m2 have been produced. In 2024, 15.8 million m2 were produced, in 5 months of 2025 - 6.7 million m2. The main products include colorless transparent float glass, colored float glass and coated glass. 70% of the manufactured products are sold on the domestic market, and a third are exported to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia and Russia,” the department reported.

They also added that the plant is included in the list of priority activities. The Kazakh side provided 50 hectares of land for the construction of the plant as an in-kind grant, provided the necessary engineering infrastructure, and exempted investors from customs duties, corporate income, land and property taxes for a certain period.

In June 2024, the investor, at its own expense, commissioned the second project for the production of energy-saving glass with a capacity of 5 million square meters per year, worth 6.7 billion tenge.

Sheet glass products are included in the list of exemptions from the national regime, which will allow priority purchases through regulated purchases. The plant has a laboratory for colored and energy-saving glass.
