Sibsteklo Among Winners of the It is About People Competition

The project "Implementing Sustainable Solutions in Glass Packaging Production to Boost Business Efficiency and Reduce Environmental Impact," submitted by Sibirskoye Steklo LLC, took second place in the "Environmental Efficiency" category at the 19th All-Russian Corporate Project Competition "It’s About People: Companies Investing in the Future," organized by the Association of Managers.

Sibirskoye Steklo LLC (Sibsteklo) is a leading glass container manufacturer in Russia and the largest glass waste recycler in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts; it also holds the status of Ambassador for the Business Social Capital Standard.

Sibsteklo competed against companies such as Lemana PRO (first place), Technonicol (third place), Severstal, and Siberian Wellness, as well as Sveza Group (special category: "Circular Solutions of the Future") and the "Sokhrani Les" (Save the Forest) service.

The "It’s About People" competition aims to identify and disseminate best practices and innovative approaches to enhance the competitiveness of socially responsible businesses in both domestic and international markets. This year, the jury reviewed 129 projects from 63 Russian companies. Winners were selected across nine main and three special categories, and the recipient of the top honor—the Grand Prix—was also announced. The implementation of the Sibsteklo project has enabled the transformation of key processes across the main stages of glass packaging production: raw material procurement, glass melting, glass forming, and palletizing. The plant ensures a stable supply of glass containers and reduces industrial emissions, while also helping to accelerate the development of glass and plastic waste management systems as part of the transition to a circular economy.
