In Gus-Khrustalny, they want to create a division of the Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology

Within the walls of the State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “Gus Glass College” named after G.F. Chekhlov (a member of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia), the Governor of the Vladimir Region, Alexander Avdeev, together with his colleagues, held a working meeting with the acting rector of the Russian University of Chemical Technology, Evgeny Rumyantsev.

Gus-Khrustalny is a center of competence in the chemical industry. A specialized educational, production and industrial cluster has been created here.

“Gus Glass College provides secondary vocational education, but continuity in higher education is necessary. We are interested in creating a branch, a basic department or another division of one of the leading universities in the country on its basis,” Alexander Avdeev said in official social networks.

The head of the Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia responded positively to the proposal of the Vladimir Region.

“We are ready ideologically. Of course, we need to look at the entire industry, processes, the need for personnel, conduct brainstorming sessions, and I believe this can form the basis of some kind of roadmap,” he said.

The D.I. Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia is the largest educational and research center in the field of chemical technology in our country. It has two branches - in Novomoskovsk and Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The university traces its history back to the Moscow Industrial School, founded in 1898, and celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2023.

The areas of training at the D.I. Mendeleyev University of Chemical Technology of Russia are related to the chemical industry in various fields, including petrochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical technologies, industrial ecology, modern energy, nanotechnology, and others.

Considering the important moment and major problems with training specialists for the glass industry of Russia, at the end of 2024, StekloSouz held the 25th International Specialized Forum "Glass and Modern Technologies-XXI" at the G.F. Chekhlov State Autonomous Professional Educational Institution of Higher Education "Gusev Glass College" (more details here).

The Association "StekloSouz" of Russia will take an active part in the process of solving the task.
