Uzbekistan to Introduce a Construction Glass Recycling Fee

At a regular meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was considered.

According to the document, amendments are being made to the Laws "On Environmental Protection" and "On Waste" to introduce a recycling fee to cover the costs of processing waste generated by the use of construction glass.

According to this, a recycling fee for construction glass will be introduced. This procedure establishes the procedure for calculating, paying, collecting, and refunding overpaid or overcharged fees for the recycling of glass and glass products, as well as the organization of infrastructure related to the collection, transportation, and disposal of waste generated as a result of the loss of consumer properties of glass and glass products.

The adoption of the Law will promote the development of the construction glass industry, ensure environmental safety, protect public health and the environment from the harmful effects of waste generated by the use of construction glass that has lost its consumer properties, and develop waste recycling activities.

Following the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
