Sheet steel, chipboard and sheet glass, as well as wall silicate blocks, have risen in price by more than a quarter from manufacturers of these materials in Russia in the first half of the year, according to materials from the SMPRO consulting company in the construction materials industry, prepared based on an analysis of prices from manufacturing companies.

A year ago, President Vladimir Putin signed a law that allowed the launch of an update to the extended responsibility system for producers and importers of goods and packaging (ERP).

At a meeting with members of the Government, which was held last week by the President of Russia, the Minister of Industry and the Chairman of the State Council Commission on Industry cited products manufactured in the Bryansk Region as an example of successful import substitution.
