Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Meeting on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)

On March 7, 2024, the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter referred to as SSR) hosted a meeting of heads of relevant departments and committees of the SSR with an invitation to a law firm specializing in extended producer responsibility (EPR).

⦿ The meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia.

Alexander Krepak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of United Glass Plants-Management Company LLC, took part in the consideration of complex issues of extended producer responsibility.

PPK REO, by letter to the SSR No. 1430/24 dated February 27, 2024, confirmed its agreement to consider glass factories as recyclers (with comments).

The registration procedure and rules for maintaining the register of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs that dispose of waste from the use of goods are approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of December 29, 2023 No. 2400.

The leadership of the SSR formulated questions to study tariff rates, regulations, VAT and other topics.

Currently, SSR's appeals have been sent to the Government of the Russian Federation, relevant ministries and departments. Systemic consultations are underway, including on issues related to the state’s organization of separate collection of secondary resources.

✔ It was decided to hold a joint scheduled meeting until March 25, 2024.
