Association «StekloSouz» of Russia. Meeting on resource conservation

On March 06, 2023, a meeting on resource saving was held at the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter referred to as SSR). First of all, it was about creating a set of measures to save electricity.

As you know, the glass industry is energy-intensive - there is a continuous method of production.

In 2022, the Energy Committee of the SSR prepared a set of measures for glass factories to ensure a systemic reduction in energy consumption.

Since the 2000s, the managers of many plants, realizing that new economical energy consumption technologies have a great influence on profitability and competitiveness, independently prepared programs to reduce energy consumption by installing gas piston stations and other energy-efficient equipment, up to the introduction of a new generation of electric motors with high savings energy.

Currently, domestic manufacturers of special types of machinery and equipment offer to use Russian technologies in the production cycle as part of the import substitution program.

This meeting was held as part of the implementation of the industry program to reduce energy consumption.

Alexey Savin, Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Ecology, said that the program to reduce energy consumption is working and brings obvious financial savings of up to 10-20% of the total volume at plants that use modern technologies.

The heads of the subdivisions of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia confirmed that work in this direction will be continued until the results set by the industry document are achieved.

The meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia.

Decisions were made, including holding a joint meeting with manufacturers of energy efficient equipment in the second quarter of 2023.
