The Polotsk-Steklovolokno delegation visited China. What did you agree on?

OJSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno" is increasing the supply of its own products to the Chinese market, as well as the purchase of equipment and spare parts from the Middle Kingdom. The factory newspaper “Trudovaya Smena” reported this, talking about the results of a trip to China by the company’s specialists, led by Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer Yegor Voiteshenok.

During the business trip, representatives of Polotsk-Steklovolokno visited a number of Chinese companies. The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience in the design of glass furnaces, familiarize themselves with the technical capabilities and equipment of Chinese manufacturers, and discuss the supply of materials.

Here is how Yegor Voiteshenok commented on the results of the trip:

“Purchasing without intermediaries is one of the key elements of enterprise management in the conditions of modern market competition. We were able to find direct suppliers of winding machines for fiberglass production. In addition, a number of commercial offers have been received from manufacturers of refractory materials, which in the future will ensure the proper level of competition and cost savings.”

Yegor Voiteshenok called the negotiations productive. Experts discussed the possibility of transferring glass melting furnace No. 4 from the production of E-glass to ECR glass, which would significantly reduce production costs. Another important issue is the planned construction at the Polotsk-Steklovolokno site of a new glass melting furnace with a capacity of about 50 thousand tons per year.

Polotsk residents also brought samples of raw materials to determine their chemical composition and the possibility of use at the enterprise. In case of positive results, a trial batch will be purchased for testing under existing production conditions.
