Export of Moscow lighting equipment has grown by 84 percent this year

The capital supplies lighting equipment to 81 countries.

Moscow has become a leader in the supply of lighting equipment among Russian regions, said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

According to him, in seven months, the capital's companies exported 84 percent more products than in the same period in 2020, and 89.4 percent more than in January-July 2019.

“Over the past two years, capital exporters have managed to almost double the supply of electric lighting equipment - from $ 28.29 million in January-July 2019 to $ 53.58 million over the same period this year. Today, Moscow accounts for 37.6 percent of domestic exports, while in January-July last year, this share was about 22 percent. This growth has allowed the capital to secure the title of the main region - the exporter of this type of product, ”said Vladimir Efimov.

Moscow exports lamps, garlands, lamps and industrial lighting, semiconductors (LED equipment) and other products. Exports of plastic equipment parts, illuminated signage and indoor hanging lighting are growing at a fast pace.

Moscow lighting equipment is currently exported to 81 countries. Among the main buyers of the capital's products are Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ireland, Germany, Bulgaria, Korea and China. This year, the list was supplemented by a new trading partner - the Philippines.

“The Asian direction of export of this category of goods shows the greatest growth and prospects. It is especially worth paying attention to the dynamics of the increase in supplies to Korea and China. If in January - July 2019, the total exports to these two countries amounted to one million dollars (0.7 million to Korea and 0.3 million to China), then in 2021 it amounted to 6.67 million dollars, showing an almost sevenfold increase. At the same time, exports to Korea amounted to $ 3.45 million, and to China - $ 3.22 million, ”said Alexander Prokhorov, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

Experts from the center for support and development of exports "Mosprom" note that Moscow will continue to increase supplies to the countries of Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Mosprom Center, subordinate to the City Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, provides individual support for industrial exports and exports of agricultural products. Experts analyze target markets for metropolitan producers, study the risk profile, the state of the industry and its dependence on exports and imports. In addition, experts provide individual analytics that determine the most effective strategy for entering foreign markets, help Moscow companies find counterparties and conduct negotiations with potential buyers abroad.
