Head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov visited the enterprise «Dagestan Glass Tara»

During his working trip to South Dagestan Acting Head of the RD Sergey Melikov visited the oldest enterprise of the glass industry in Russia - "Dagestan Glass Tara", located in the city of Dagestanskie Ogni. It was initially focused on the production of flat glass. In the 70s, the plant mastered the production of glass containers and was the flagship of the USSR glass industry.

Currently, the company specializes in the production of canned glass containers, glass bottles and cans for food products. The head of Dagestan was told about this during the inspection of the plant.

As its founder Patakhudin Magomedov stated, the advantageous geographical location, the presence of a developed logistics system creates the prerequisites for becoming the main supplier of glass containers in the south of Russia. Relations with manufacturers of canned food both in Russia and abroad are improving. Neighboring Azerbaijan purchases a large amount of glass containers for its food and canning industry.

Future plans include the modernization of production together with the Czech company Sklostroj. It is planned to build new energy-saving furnaces and lines for the production of glass containers from painted glass.
