The head of the Ministry of Labor explained the changes in the Labor Code

An updated version of the Labor Code will be in effect from March next year. The changes will also affect labor protection. According to Anton Kotyakov, the approach in this area will become more risk-oriented.

Labor protection will take into account the individual characteristics of the employer. This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), answering a question about the entry into force of amendments to the labor protection section of the Labor Code from March 2022.

“The approach in the field of labor protection is fundamentally changing. It becomes more risk-oriented and forms an account of the individual characteristics of both the employer and the specific workplace, ”he told RBC.

An updated version of the Labor Code will be in effect from March 2022. The changes will affect, among other things, labor protection. In particular, employers will be obliged to suspend work if the conditions at the workplace are deemed dangerous, and to keep records of micro-injuries of employees. At the same time, all companies will be allowed to record the production process and present the records to the inspector from the labor commission.

In July, Dmitry Porochkin, the public ombudsman for supervision in the field of labor law compliance, said that changes in labor protection rules in Russia would increase the burden on the employer, but at the same time increase the level of employee safety and allow avoiding bureaucratic formalism.

At the same time, he noted that not all the proposals of the experts who participated in the preparation of the bill were taken into account. “For example, introducing the concept of occupational risks into the new edition of the law and proposing to build a labor protection system based on a risk-oriented approach, our initiative to form a labor protection service at an enterprise based on an assessment of risks in an organization was ignored, and the old scheme based on the number of personnel was left. ", - said Porochkin in an interview with TASS.
