I decade, March 2024. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

According to preliminary estimates, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic deliveries + imports) in the first ten days of March 2024 continued the positive trend compared to the same period last year – plus 52.0%.

During the period from the beginning of the year to March 10, 2024, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 8.1 million square meters. m, which is 44.1% more than for the same period in 2023.

A decrease in the supply of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to March 10, 2024 was recorded in two districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets are the dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to February 29, 2024):

• Southern Federal District -39.4% (previously -39.7%);

• Central Federal District -15.9% (previously -6.6%).

Consumption of glass delivered by rail for the period from January 1 to March 10, 2024 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to February 29, 2024):

• Volga Federal District + 217.5% (previously +234.8%);

• North Caucasian Federal District +61.8% (previously +45.6%);

• Siberian Federal District +56.7% (previously +54.4%);

• Far Eastern Federal District +30.9% (previously +20.9%);

• Northwestern Federal District +27.0% (previously +26.3%);

• Ural Federal District +23.1% (previously +23.9%).

The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption in 2023 was ~21.7%.
