Dear colleagues!
In accordance with the approved plan for the interaction of production, research institutes and educational institutions, the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia together with the Institute of Silicate Chemistry. I.V. Grebenshchikov of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ICS RAS) from October 3 to October 7, 2022, holds a Scientific School-Conference with international participation for young scientists “Functional glasses and glassy materials: Synthesis. Structure. Properties".
The purpose of the Scientific School-Conference “Functional glasses and glassy materials: Synthesis. Structure. Properties” – exchange of experience between different generations of scientists and specialists, professional development in the field of theoretical and applied aspects of synthesis, research and modeling of the properties and structure of glasses, technological issues of production, preservation of scientific schools and attraction of young researchers and specialists, acquaintance of young researchers from the CIS and other countries with Russian scientific schools, development of links between various scientific fields and groups, organization of interdisciplinary research.
Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia and Irina Kruchinina, Vice-President of "StekloSouz" of Russia, Director of the ICS RAS, were approved as co-chairs of this event.
Students, graduate students, young scientists and specialists (up to 39 years old), young candidates of sciences from scientific organizations, universities and enterprises of Russia, the CIS states and foreign countries are invited to participate in the school-conference with poster presentations. The age of the school-conference participants as listeners is not limited.
As part of the school-conference, it is planned to hold a section during which school students will be able to present reports with the results of their scientific projects.
Scientists, employees of universities and scientific organizations, as well as specialists from glass enterprises and NGOs involved in research, technology development and production of glass products and glassy materials, training and retraining of personnel.
As part of the work of the school-conference, the following issues will be considered:
° The nature of the glassy state. Structure of glass-forming melts and glasses, computer simulation.
° Physical and chemical properties of glass-forming melts and glasses.
° Crystallization of glasses, glass-ceramic materials (glass-ceramics, coatings, etc.)
° Glass synthesis methods. Technology and production. New and special glasses (bio-, oxygen-free, metal, polymer, optical, etc.), composite materials based on glass.
° Practical application of glasses. Archaeometry of glass and art glass.
Round tables:
° “The role of FVE in professional development and training for the glass industry. New forms of interaction between specialized institutions of secondary vocational education, universities, scientific organizations and industry enterprises.
° "Modern Science Museum in Russia".
The conference school program includes:
° Lectures by leading scientists;
° Poster session (for young participants up to 39 years old)
° Round tables;
° Master classes by leading scientists;
° Exhibition of scientific works of outstanding scientists;
° Excursions to scientific laboratories of the Institute of Silicate Chemistry of the Russian Academy of Sciences and co-organizers;
° Reports of specialists of glass enterprises.

The format of participation in the work of the school-conference is face-to-face and remote.
The working language of the school-conference is Russian.
