Meeting of heads of specialized committees and departments of the Association StekloSouz of Russia on the implementation of the decision of glass factories dated January 16, 2024

On February 2, 2024, the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter SSR) held a regular meeting of the heads of specialized committees and departments of the SSR on the implementation of the decision of glass factories dated January 16, 2024.

Alexey Savin, chairman of the SSR Ecology Committee, made a report. In his speech, he reported on the work done to prepare new calculations of the environmental fee rate.

The standards proposed by PP contradict the technological processes for the production of glass containers. They will dramatically affect the quality of products and safety for the end consumer.

Technologists are currently working to make changes to the chemical composition of bottles. This will take time.

Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, said that the material on the recycler, tariffs and rates are under consideration by the Government of the Russian Federation and relevant ministries.

Dmitry Tuknov, Advisor to the President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, presented preliminary calculations for organizing the work of the holding.

Andrey Gorin, Director of the Department of Flat Glass and Industrial Processing of the SSR, proposed to the meeting participants the organization of systematic work on the proposal to the Government of the Russian Federation of a scientifically based Program for adapting the work of glass factories in the conditions of the negative impact of the introduction of extended producer responsibility (EPR).

The meeting made decisions, including ordering a study of the scrap glass (scrap) market in Russia and the CIS.

The meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia.
