A new glass-blowing workshop has opened at Gusevsky Glass College

A new workshop has appeared at the Gusev Glass College. The Vesti-Vladimir film crew found out who learns the secrets of glassblowing in it.

A graceful bird (swan) is the hobbyhorse of student Alexander Ivanov. The freshman confidently picks up the glass mass, stretches his tail and neck. The swan "takes wing" in less than a minute. Magic.

Next, the swan should cool down. Slowly. The product will gain strength in this oven for almost a day.

Tomorrow it will be almost warm. Like a hot cake.

Alexander, a student at the Gusev Glass College, spends all his free time here. In the glassblowing workshop. We can say that it was because of her that he decided to enroll in Gus-Khrustalny - he himself is from the Tver region. He says he wanted to study in a place where he could work with glass every day. And so it happened. Sasha is no longer called a student here - he’s a real journeyman. With fire in the eyes.

Alexander Ivanov, first year student at Gusev Glass College:

- Most of all I know how to make swans and flowers. They are a little more difficult to make. They need to be pulled out to a certain size and three pieces made there. Using special clamps, then bending them somehow - you get an iris. The leg cools down quickly! The stem itself is thin. It will bend a little in the cuckoo. Therefore, everything needs to be done here quickly. Be able to. Because glass does not tolerate mistakes.

17-year-old Sasha seems to know everything about his favorite material. He often conducts excursions in the glass workshop at the college. And dreams of opening his own. But first, he says, he wants to work at a factory. A glass company in his hometown - the Krasny May plant - went bankrupt in 2001. The guy plans to gain experience at Gusevsky production.

Vasily Garanin, head of the glassblowing workshop:

- Of course, the number of people who work there is small - around 150 people. But they still have a need for specialists.

In fact, blowers are required even in the defense industry. Valuable personnel are trained here by two masters - Vasily Garanin and Sergey Dubrovin. Sergei Anatolyevich worked as a blower for half a century - now he passes on the skill to beginners.

Sergey Dubrovin, blower:

- You just have to, as they say, take your work headlong. It all depends on your partner. If you work together with your partner, you will succeed.

These guys are lucky. They have a real pro as their partner. Freshman Christina is at the stove. In college he studies accounting, here he studies art.

Kristina Novoselova, first-year student at Gusev Glass College:

- You can do this forever. It's always interesting to do something new, especially if it's something inspiring.

Such a glass-blowing workshop at the college is the only one in the country. It opened at the end of the 22nd. As part of the "Professionality" program. And it became the first step towards creating a large Center for glass crafts here.

- Equipment for glass processing will be located here.

And also machines for silk-screen printing, engraving, ovens for stained glass. There is a large screen on the wall for educational films. They plan to launch a new modern workshop in a few months. This means that the college’s graduating class will be replenished with even more experienced students, and the local collection of branded apples will be replenished with new exhibits.
