It is known that the State Duma is resolving the issue of a bill on the introduction of an identifier stamp on consumer glass packaging produced in Russia, including for strong alcohol. The draft law envisages supplementing Federal Law No. 381 with the norm on the obligation to apply a unique identifier mark on all glass consumer packaging produced in the Russian Federation.

In March 2021, the 59th meeting of the IGU is planned, at which the final version of the draft interstate standard GOST “Glass packaging. Bottles for alcoholic and non-alcoholic food products. General technical conditions ". Topic 1.14.074-2.007.20.

The draft interstate standard contains a section for labeling bottles, including the trademark of the bottle manufacturer, which does not prevent illegal manufacturers from bottling counterfeit alcohol.

In order to exclude the application of an identifier of various shapes to bottles intended for bottling strong alcohol, glass factories are invited to consider this issue and propose the most optimal design, place and method of application to be included in the new draft of an interstate standard.
