The plant for the production of glass containers is being built in the Industrial Zone, - reports Almaty.tv with reference to the press service of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Investments.

Completion of construction is expected by autumn 2022. According to plans, the company will create about 300 jobs, annually producing about 140 million glass products and deducting 1 billion in taxes to the country's budget.

The area of the land plot located on the territory of the industrial zone of Almaty is 4 hectares. Now active work is underway here on the construction of a power transmission line, communications for the supply of gas, water, a sewage system and a passage to the railway for the transport of goods. In addition to all this, one of the main buildings of the plant has already been built on the territory. The total investment is over 2.5 billion tenge.

Today, the republic imports about 50% of glass containers from the Russian Federation (bottles, cans and medical containers), however, with the launch of the plant, imports are expected to decrease by 15-20%.

“This plant belongs to the processing industry. For the construction of the plant, we needed a territory with energy capacities and convenient logistics. The industrial zone has all this, the conditions suit us. Geographically, we are located next to the factories of our potential consumers, which are located in Almaty and the Almaty region. These are factories for the production of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products, canneries, medical companies, etc. In terms of cost and quality, our glass products will correspond to Russian counterparts. One of our advantages is logistics, which will reduce the delivery time for fragile goods, ”said Director of Bagdar LTD LLP Zeinolla Ismailov.

In the future, the company is considering the possibility of exporting products to neighboring countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
